- Msiexec /p acad.msp /qb (or replace with /q or /qn for silent) While 2 looks easier, it won't install any prereqs/associated apps (these are noted in the setup.xml) Bonus: in 2022, setup.exe and installer.exe seem to be interchangeable.
- Runs InstallShield Silent to execute a silent setup. Prevents a network connection and Setup.exe from closing before the setup is complete. This switch works with setups originating from a Windows NT server over a network. Please note that SMS must be uppercase; this is a case-sensitive switch.
We'll try to switch to another installer framework in the future which supports silent installs, see #3 👍 2 ctaggart mentioned this issue Dec 16, 2020.
Suppress Alerts with Silent Mode
- Silent mode temporarily disables alerts so they don't interrupt you when playing a game or running a full screen presentation.
- Scheduled virus scans and database updates are also postponed until this mode is disabled.
- All protection components are 100% active in silent mode. Any threats are automatically blocked.
Enable silent mode
- Right-click on the CCS system bar icon
- Select 'Silent Mode' from the options:
- Deactivate 'Silent Mode' to resume alerts, updates and scheduled scans.
